* The Northeastern United States is recovering tonight from a snowstorm that dumped as much as three feet in snow in some parts of the region. The storm mainly impacted the area all throughout yesterday, with the worst of it being overnight into this morning. The storm brought winds as well as flooding and sleet in some parts. It is the first of its kind to hit the region in nearly two years.
* The U.S. Government says it was the victim of a massive cyberattack that began in March of this year. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) says the attack has compromised critical areas in our government, and was likely carried out by groups affiliated with the Russian Federation. Earlier this week, reports had emerged about massive cyberattacks that targeted at major sectors of the Government, ranging from treasury to defense. The Intercept also reported that Russia had also successfully hacked into the City of Austin, allowing them to access information regarding the cities infrastructure, both political and physical, as well as its water and energy facilities. The Russian Group known as Cozy Bear, which is connected to the Russian Agency, SVR is believed to be responsible for the cyberattacks on the U.S. Government. Russia has denied these allegations and so far, the President has remained silent on the attacks.
* The FDA has recommended the approval of another COVID-19 Vaccine, this time, one made by Moderna. Last week, the Agency approved a vaccine manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech. The Moderna Vaccine has a 94% approval rating and unlike the Pfizer Vaccine, can be stored at regular freezer temperatures. COVID-19 cases have risen significantly over the last few weeks, bringing the total up to 17.1 Million cases with 310,000 Deaths.
* In Sports, the NBA has opened an investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers. Marc Stein is reporting that the league is investigating how the team managed to land, star forward Kawhi Leonard. Leonard famously signed with the Clippers last July, after playing with the Spurs and the Raptors. Leonard waited until later that week to announce his decision, and TMZ is reporting, that Jerry West is being sued for $2 Million by Johnny Wilkes, who claims he helped convince Leonard to sign with the Clippers.
